Our commitment on the movement
Robeco requires the palm oil producing companies in our investment portfolio to be RSPO member and have a minimum of 20% of their plantations RSPO certified. We engage with every palm oil producer and expect them to meet 50% certification by 31 December 2021. Companies that don’t meet our minimum standard are no longer eligible for investment by our funds.

Our struggles and future plans
Traceability in the supply chain is difficult to achieve. We continue to engage with companies to provide better transparency and thereby enabling investors to screen the supply chain and ensure that all companies are producing palm oil sustainably.
Our next activity is to continue to engage with palm oil producing companies in our investment portfolio’s as part of the Robeco palm oil program to contribute to the transition to a sustainable palm oil industry.
Our UN Sustainable Development Goals
We are focusing our contribution to all UN SDGs but for palm oil we recognize SDG 2 and SDG 15 as the main SDGs that are impacted by palm oil production.
